Hi, I am

Through talk and play therapy, creative interventions, connection and support, I strive to help all individuals believe in themselves. Using a variety of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques and activities, we will create goals, develop a positive plan, and break down problems into manageable parts. Some examples of areas we might focus on include self-regulation, emotional expression, thought challenging, communication, problem-solving, and assertiveness.
Preschool, school-age, & early adolescence:
- Self-esteem
- School issues
- Anxiety and depression
- Isolation
- Regulating emotions and Anger management
- Adjustment / Coping with changes (new sibling; moving to new home or school; loss of family member, friend, or pet; illness; separation/divorce)
- Adjusting to a new baby / Coping with major changes
- Toddler years: positive discipline techniques; teaching through play
- Assistance creating daily routines and structure
- Family communication and bonding

How I Can Help...

As a child therapist, I am passionate about helping children navigate their big feelings and find healthy outlets. I truly believe that no child wants to be unhappy or oppositional. They are learning to manage life's highs and lows, which can be both confusing and overwhelming. I have extensive experience working with children and their families to identify obstacles, create goals, implement a plan, and learn new skills.

My professional experience includes school counseling in public and cyber schools, individual and group therapy for children and adolescents, early intervention services for special needs, early childhood education, and outpatient clinical therapy.

After graduating with my first master's degree (educational psych), I worked throughout South Jersey for eight years providing in-home individual and family-focused therapy. In my work in foster, kinship, and adoption services, I gained training and knowledge in issues of trauma, separation, grief, loss, and attachment.

Regarding my education, I have a master’s degree in mental health counseling (MS Ed., University of Pennsylvania), as well as a master’s degree in educational psychology (MA, Montclair State University). For undergrad, I attended The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) where I earned a bachelor's degree in psychology.

When I am Not at Work....

When I'm not working, I'm busy being a mom to two energetic little ones! My family and I love traveling to warm places and spending our summers at the beach. I'm a big fan of live music, trying out new recipes in my kitchen, and dining out with my husband. In the evenings you can find me curled up with a good book!
