Certified School Counselor

Hi, I am

Caitlin!

I am a Certified School Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania and have experience across various learning environments. I worked as a middle school counselor, elementary cyber school counselor, and a mental fitness/social emotional learning coach for students across the country. I believe the best way to effectively reach students is to truly understand their interests and hobbies and creatively incorporate those personal passions into counseling sessions. You will always find me coming up with innovative ways to help students reach their full potential!

How I Can Help...

I completed my Masters Degree in School Counseling at Shippensburg University. Upon graduating, I worked as a school counselor for five years and then a mental wellness coach for three years. While I love getting to know my students on an individual level, I also thoroughly enjoy group counseling and teaching character education/social skills content.

My counseling roots are firmly planted in my own experiences with anxiety and depression. Navigating home life, relationships, and academic success can feel overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be that way. As the wise educator Rita Pierson said, "Every kid needs a champion." I firmly believe that, if each child has just one adult in their life who nurtures their strengths and supports them during hardships, positive change can occur. Who knows? Maybe I could be that champion for your student.

When I am Not at Work....

When I'm not at work, you will find me running after my three young children while I attempt to finish my coffee before it gets too cold. I also enjoy planning parties and vacations for my family and friends. If I find myself with even more precious free time, I'll likely be engaging in creative writing or playing my ukulele.

I am passionate about mental fitness and teaching students about their social strengths as they relate to self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision making, and relationship skills. I also love using pop culture (e.g., movies, music, gaming) to really reach students in a unique therapeutic way!
