Additional Credentials

In addition, my experience living and working abroad has shaped both my professional perspective and my personal approach to supporting young people and families. Time spent outside the United States — alongside travel to more than 20 countries — has deepened my cultural awareness, empathy, and ability to connect with students from a wide range of backgrounds. Being bilingual in Spanish is not just a skill for me, but a bridge that allows me to build trust, understanding, and meaningful relationships with students and families in ways that truly honor their identities and lived experiences.

Hi, I am

Nafeesa!

Welcome! I am dedicated school counselor who has been supporting students since 2011. Over the years, I’ve worked with at-risk youth and adolescents in both the United States and the Dominican Republic, giving me a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, experiences, and learning styles. I am bilingual in Spanish and passionate about creating safe, affirming spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and supported.

How I Can Help...

I specialize in helping students navigate anxiety, social challenges, family concerns, and behavioral issues, with a warm, steady, and solutions-focused approach. My work is informed by broad experience across multiple areas of child and adolescent therapy, as well as my background as an entrepreneur, which has strengthened my ability to think creatively, stay resilient, and problem-solve in complex situations.

I am an alumna of Temple University and Wilmington University, where I earned my master’s degree in School Counseling. While I have built and run several businesses, I have returned to school counseling because guiding young people through their challenges — and helping them discover their confidence and potential — is truly where my heart is. I do my best work with students who need steady support, thoughtful guidance, and someone who believes in their ability to grow and thrive.

When I am Not at Work....

When I’m not at work, I love leaning into joy, curiosity, and connection. I enjoy comedy, good conversation, and exploring new places — I’ve traveled to over 20 countries and believe that seeing the world broadens how we understand ourselves and others. I’m a proud mom of three, and much of my life is centered around showing up fully for my children while encouraging their own confidence and independence. Alongside motherhood, I am also an entrepreneur and business owner, which keeps me creative, resourceful, and continually learning. Above all, I value meaningful relationships, laughter, and living with intention in everything I do.
